Why the Digital Health Test Studio?
Cutting edge infrastructure
The Digital Health Test Studio is the first education and testing facility to use the innovative Noldus Hub, an advanced platform for integrated behavioural research. This means the studio boasts a suite of specialised research tools to get the most out of every user test.
Comprehensive multimodal data
The studio’s infrastructure allows you to capture rich, multimodal data on how users interact with digital health technologies. This provides the depth of evidence needed to inform design decisions, validate product performance, and address regulatory and market requirements.
Direct access to clinical end-users
Situated within Amsterdam UMC, one of the Netherlands’ foremost academic medical centres, the studio puts the people who matter most at the centre of digital health: patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare organisations. This ensures that your research is grounded in a real-world healthcare context.

What can you test?
The studio supports investigation of a wide range of digital health solutions, including:
- Artificial intelligence applications
- Electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Patient portals
- Clinical decision support tools
- Digital data exchange solutions
The focus is on generating rigorous evidence about usability, safety, reliability, effectiveness, and the broader impact of these technologies on patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare organisations.
A collaborative ecosystem
The Digital Health Test Studio exists at the intersection of education, research, and practice. Combined with our other facilities, the Mobile UX labs and the Digital Playground, this ensur that knowledge flows between academia and the health tech industry. This shared environment ensures that innovations are not only tested for technical performance but also evaluated for their real-world impact on the people and organisations they are designed to serve.
